About This Project

The Five Block D refurbishment project is part of the adaptive reuse of the former Kompleks Pejabat Damansara (KPD), a low-rise office complex dating from the 1970s for Selangor Properties Sdn Bhd. The refurbishment of Block D continues the transformation of the former Kompleks Pejabat Damansara into a new low-rise commercial precinct within Damansara Heights after Block A & Block E. Rather than functioning as an individual block, the project is conceived as a collective lobby, a place of arrival, transition and gathering that connects the wider development.

Rather than replacing the existing building, the project works with its original structure, opening up selected areas to introduce new spatial relationships between workplace, dining and landscape. The intervention retains the character and scale of the existing block while adapting its former office spaces into a more open and socially driven environment.

Central to this idea is a new three-storey portal entrance, scaled to the height of the existing building. More than an entrance gesture, the portal establishes a strong visual axis between Block A and Block E, giving the previously separate buildings a clearer architectural relationship. Its scale creates an identifiable point of arrival while framing views into and across the development.

The renewed Block D accommodates premium office spaces alongside an alfresco café and fine-dining restaurant, creating a programme that extends beyond the conventional workplace. Existing structural elements are retained and expressed where possible, while new interventions are deliberately contemporary yet restrained.
